In reply to AUPD111. You have 5 consecutive years to complete 4 years of playing. Sometimes the extra year is because of injury (see Hartman). Sometimes it is used for maturity (see Thompson). Most players complete their eligibility in four years. In very extreme extenuating circumstances sometimes a sixth year is possible but very rare.

Can someone explain redshirting? So the first year you sit out and can’t officially play. After that are you eligible to play 3 or 4 years?

Alex – I wish the comments that are a year old would fall off now so discussion could continue on recent changes. Having to load the newest comments is a hassle and I think people avoid scrolling down to do so. Just my two sense
